New Transformers Game Revealed, Detailed

We already knew about the new film Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but today we learned some interesting details about the inevitable game tie-in.

IGN interviewed High Moon's game director Sean Miller about their newest project. If you played High Moon's other recent Transformers game, War For Cybertron (shown above), it sounds like you'll have a good idea of what to expect from Dark Of The Moon. "In terms of similarities, we think people will be excited to know that we're sticking with a similar control and gameplay scheme from War for Cybertron," Miller said. "We want you to be able to play in whichever (transformation) mode you want - you're never without your weapons, but you've got choices."

Miller didn't give up a whole lot of information about the new game, but he did confirm that online multiplayer will be returning, and that this time around players will control named Transformers instead of generic palette swaps. Miller also revealed that High Moon has been working on the game since before War For Cybertron shipped last year. I'm not a big fan of the Transformers movies, but I look forward to seeing what the developer has planned for the next game.
