marsha ambrosius

A LIVERPOOL-born singer is recording huge sales in the States after becoming an R&B megastar.
Marsha Ambrosius – almost unknown at home in Britain – has stormed up the charts in America with her debut solo album.
She entered the US chart at number two with ‘Late Nights and Early Mornings’ – just one place below Adele and above Mumford and Sons.
album shot in behind mega-selling Adele on Billboard’s Top 200 chart after selling 96,000 copies in its first week. It was the first time in more than 25 years that three British acts occupied the top places on the US albums chart.
Marsha, who also topped Billboard’s R&B Albums Chart last week, moved from Merseyside to London aged five.
But she said she tries to come home at Christmas or Easter as the majority of her family still live in Liverpool.
The songwriter was also reported saying she still has a Liverpool twang in her accent and sometimes people struggle to understand her in America.

Marsha Ambrosius Solo Album on The Way
Former Floetry member Marsha Ambrosius has remained in the spotlight over the years, performing and collaborating on music despite the split with her groupmate Natalie Stewart in 2007. Now, the British songstress is officially making her debut as a one-woman show with the release of her first solo album, ‘Late Nights & Early Mornings.’
Ambrosius, who was once signed to Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Entertainment, joined forces with J Records in 2009 and landed a solo deal. As part of her union with the label, her first project, ‘Late Nights & Early Mornings,’ is set for release on October 26. Before then, listeners can get acquainted with ‘Hope She Cheats on You (With a Basketball Player)’– the first single off the six-time Grammy nominee’s forthcoming effort.
